He was from Notre-Dame, v. et ar. Montrreuil-sur-mer, ev. Amiens, Picardie (
now called Pas-de-Calais), France. He died sometime before his son Jacques
confirmation. He answered that he was 23 in 1666 and in Beauport, QP. He said
he was 23 in 1667 and in Beaupre, QP, and a servant for Bertrand Chesnay. He
said he was 44 in 1681 and at L'Islet. He was cited as being in Chateau-Richer
, PQ on 14 SEP 1667 and was a shoemaker.

They lived at Birch Plain Road, in North Hampton, a bit further north of the
residence of Frederick A. Batchelder of 1901. To distinguish him from another
of the same name, he was often called "William in the woods". During the
prevalance of throat distemper in 1736, he lost 6 of his children, 5 of them
within the space of 8 days.

was at Mont-Louis, and was a Master Engraver. He establihed himself in
Kamouraska in 1696 or 1697. He was a lieutenant of the Militia of Kamouraska in
March of 1721. He was a carpenter, joiner and barrelmaker at different times in
his life. He filed contract to marry with notary Gilles Rageot on 29 Jan 1691.
