reviewed at that time. Copy available through Shapleigh Family Assocation,
on loan. Pg.275. The date of the marriage and the place is 1883 rather than
1882 as this book states, and took place in Eliot, ME. I consider this
information which contradicts the afore mentioned book to be correct since it
comes from the bible records of his daughter, Alice May Shapleigh, page 105.

She came to Montreal - New France in 1653, with a group of settlers
quided by Moisonneuve. She answered that she was 30 at the recording of
1667, and 50 in '81, living in Lauzon.
