made his home. He was a Republican, Highway Commissioner, Trustee of the

Full name is "Madeleine DuMortier deLeur", whom books describe as a
"woman of quality". She was from Chemille, dioces Mortagne-au-Perche, in Mans,
Maine (now Orne), France. She died sometime between 18 JUN 1686 and the
inventory of 7 AUG 1688 in Genaple, Quebec. She was perhaps the aunt of Joseph
Dumortier, who answered that he was 39 in the recording of 1681. She was a
King's Daughter.
