!COMMENT: He was an independant and successful farmer on the homestead in
Seabrook. The place was for at least 240 years in the possession of the
family. He was born a member of the Society of Friends, but withdrew in
1824. "He early identified himself with the Anti-Slavery struggle, and
lived to rejoice in the triumph of the cause." By his intelligence, industry
and economy, he was able, without engaging in speculations, to acquire a
large property. He had 10 children.
