He emigrated in 1635, and settled Hampton as early as 1639. A tract of 4 acres
, for a house lot lying near the river, afterward bearing his name, was grantd
to him, although he seemed not to have settled there. He bought ten acres from
John Sanders and lived there. He afterward through purchases, made large
additions to the lot, and obtained various other tracts in town.
