!MILITARY: Coleman was a private serving in Co. I, 6th Regiment of the TN Cav.
during the Civil war. He was inlisted from June 5, 1862 to July 26, 1865.
It's recorded that he was several times captured and suffered a gun shot
wound to the right arm and side. He collected a pension later and records
of that are also collected. At the time of that pension, he was living in
Weakly Co., Fancy, TN.
On his application for enlistment included the following description:
height-5 ft., 10.5 inches tall, Complexion-fair, eye color-blue, Hair
color-dark, and occupation-Farmer
