He came to Portsmouth in 1631 as the surgeon of Capt. John Mason's Company.
Tradition says that he was a surgeon in the English Navy, who resigned his
post to come to America. He was clerck of Court, Recorder of Deeds, Commiss.
and Surveyor, and was Town Clerck at the time of his death. He lived on the
"Doctor's", now Pierces Island, where he died between 17 May and 7 OCT 1656.
He is said to be buried at Point of Graves Cem. in Portmouth.
