He was from St-Georges-de-Rochecorbon, ar. et archev. Tours, Touraine (now
Indre-et-Loire), France, or perhaps St-Georges-de-La-Haye, parish of Balesme,
ar. Loches (now Indre-et-Loire), France. He answered that he was 36 in 1681,
and living at Vercheres as a wool comber. He was comfirmed in Montreal in May
1666. He was a carder or wool comber. He filed marriage contract with Menard -
Notary at Contrecoeur, PQ, Canada.

53. He was a wood comber. Marriage contract was passed in the home of M. Jarret
de Vercheres. They settled at Vercheres where he cultivated a large farm. It is
at the third generation that the name change occurred and many today are called
Chaillon.
