!OCCUPATION: In his early days Herbert was a carpenter, and later worked
for the old Portsmouth Shoe Company. For 22 years he was employed as
motorman on the Portsmouth Electric Railway and during the entire period
with the street railway, he was never involved in a single accident.
Following retirement he returned to his former trade, carpentry.
He was a member of the Fire Dept. and was an active member of the
Portsmouth Gun Club. He was affiliated with Damon Lodge, No. 9, Knights
of Pythias, and Massasoit Tribe, No. 16 I. O. R. M. This information
